Technique
How to perform Assisted Shoulder External Rotation Stretch
- Stand or sit tall with the working elbow bent about ninety degrees and kept beside your ribs.
- Hold a dowel across the body and use the other hand to move the working forearm outward while the elbow stays near the side.
- Stop at a mild shoulder stretch without twisting your torso or letting the shoulder roll forward.
- Return the forearm slowly and change arms. A doorway variation uses the same elbow-at-side position with the hand supported on a doorframe and a small turn of the body away.
