Technique
How to perform Band Side Delt Raise
- Stand on the lower part of a long loop band or the middle of a tube band with both feet about hip-width apart.
- Grip the loop or handles with equal band length and tension on each side, and start with your hands beside your thighs.
- Stand tall with a slight bend in your elbows and keep your wrists aligned with your forearms.
- Raise both arms out to the sides until your upper arms are roughly level with your shoulders, keeping the elbow bend consistent.
- Keep your torso still and allow your shoulder blades to move with your arms rather than pinning them down.
- Lower your hands under control to the starting position without letting the band snap back.
- Use a band that allows this range without swinging or exceeding its intended stretch range.
