Barbell Front Raise
Also called BB Front Raise
Technique
How to perform Barbell Front Raise
- Stand upright with your feet hip‑width apart, holding a barbell in front of your thighs with a pronated (palms‑down) grip about shoulder width apart.
- Engage your core, draw your shoulders down and back, and keep a soft bend in your elbows while maintaining a neutral spine.
- This is your starting position.
- Exhale as you raise the barbell straight up in front of you in a controlled arc, keeping your arms nearly straight and wrists neutral.
- Lift until the bar reaches shoulder height and your arms are parallel to the floor, avoiding any momentum or shrugging.
- Pause briefly at the top, squeezing your front deltoids and maintaining a tall posture.
- Inhale as you lower the barbell back to the starting position under control, stopping just before it touches your thighs to keep tension, then repeat for the prescribed repetitions.
