Technique

How to perform Board Press

  1. Use one of the documented bench stations and position the board stack securely over your chest.
  2. Lie with your head supported, feet firmly planted, and shoulder blades set against the bench.
  3. Take a standard bench grip or the narrower grip described for greater triceps emphasis.
  4. Unrack the bar and control it above the board stack, with wrists supported over the forearms.
  5. Lower to a controlled touch on the boards without bouncing.
  6. Press back to the starting position, allowing your elbows to follow the chosen grip rather than forcing them tightly inward through lockout.
  7. Rack the bar after completing the planned repetitions.
