Technique

How to perform Cable Front Raise

  1. Attach a straight‑bar handle to the low pulley of a cable station and stand facing the stack with your feet hip‑width apart. Grasp the bar using a pronated (overhand) grip about shoulder‑width apart, arms fully extended so the bar rests lightly against the fronts of your thighs.
  2. Brace your core, draw your shoulders down and back, and keep a soft bend in your knees. This is your starting position.
  3. Exhale as you raise the bar straight up in front of you in a controlled arc, keeping your elbows nearly locked and palms facing the ceiling.
  4. Lift until the bar reaches shoulder height and your arms are roughly parallel to the floor.
  5. Pause briefly at the top, squeezing your front delts while maintaining a neutral spine and avoiding any hip sway or shrugging.
  6. Inhale as you lower the bar back to the starting position under control, stopping just before the weight stack touches to preserve tension.
  7. Repeat for the prescribed repetitions, keeping the movement smooth and your torso stable throughout.
