Calf Stretch on Step
Technique
How to perform Calf Stretch on Step
- Stand on a sturdy step or curb with the balls of both feet on the edge and your heels hanging off, holding a railing or wall for balance.
- Shift your weight onto your right foot and bend your left knee slightly so the left heel lowers toward the ground, keeping your right leg straight.
- Exhale as you gently drop the right heel below the step level, feeling a stretch through your right calf while maintaining an upright torso.
- Hold the stretch for the recommended duration, breathing steadily and avoiding any bouncing or forced movement.
- Inhale as you raise the right heel back to the step’s level, then switch legs by straightening the left knee and bending the right to stretch the opposite calf.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions or holds on each side.
