How to perform Happy Baby

  1. Lie flat on your back with your legs extended and arms resting at your sides.
  2. Bend your knees toward your chest, then grab the outsides of your feet with your hands, keeping your arms on the inside of your legs.
  3. If needed, hold your ankles or calves instead.
  4. Gently open your knees wider than your torso and pull them toward your armpits while flexing your ankles so the soles of your feet face the ceiling.
  5. Keep your head and spine flat on the floor.
  6. Inhale deeply, then exhale as you apply gentle pressure with your hands to draw your feet downward, feeling a stretch in your hips and lower back.
  7. Avoid forcing the position or lifting your tailbone off the ground.
  8. Hold the stretch for the recommended duration, breathing steadily and allowing your hips to relax before slowly releasing your feet and extending your legs back to the floor.
