Lat Inhibition Hang
Technique
How to perform Lat Inhibition Hang
- Stand beneath a pull‑up bar and grasp it with a shoulder‑width pronated grip, allowing your arms to fully extend overhead.
- Lift your feet off the ground - or keep your toes lightly grazing the floor for support - and engage your core to maintain a neutral rib‑cage position.
- Relax your shoulder girdle so your scapulae elevate naturally, feeling the stretch travel through your lats and along the sides of your torso.
- Exhale slowly as you soften your grip and focus on releasing tension in the lats without overarching your lower back or forcefully shrugging.
- Hold the hang for the recommended time or number of deep breaths, optionally shifting your hips slightly side‑to‑side to bias one lat at a time while staying controlled.
- Gently lower your feet to the floor to dismount, shake out your arms, and repeat for additional sets as prescribed.
