Oblique Crunch on Hyperextension
Technique
How to perform Oblique Crunch on Hyperextension
- Adjust the hyperextension bench so the hip pad sits directly under your waist and set the ankle pads to secure your feet comfortably.
- Lie on your right side with your hips against the pad, feet locked in, and arms crossed over your chest.
- Lower your torso until your chest faces the ceiling - this is your starting position.
- Engage your core, then exhale as you raise your torso toward the ceiling while simultaneously rotating left so your chest ends facing sideways (toward the floor) at the top of the motion.
- Pause briefly at the top, squeezing your obliques and maintaining a neutral neck.
- Inhale as you reverse the rotation and lower your torso under control, returning to the chest‑up starting position without letting your back overextend.
- Repeat for the prescribed repetitions, then switch sides and perform the movement with your opposite oblique.
