On Your Side Quad Stretch

Also called Side-Lying Quadriceps Stretch
Technique
How to perform On Your Side Quad Stretch
- Lie on your right side with the lower knee bent in front of you to steady the pelvis and trunk.
- Bend the upper knee and reach back with the upper hand to hold that foot or ankle.
- Keep the upper knee bent as you bring the thigh gently behind the pelvis, without rolling the trunk or arching the lower back.
- Use only light foot-to-hand pressure to settle the front-thigh stretch rather than forcing the heel or contracting maximally.
- Hold the planned position, then release the foot slowly.
- Roll onto the other side and repeat.
