Technique

How to perform Reverse Band Box Squat

  1. Place a stable plyo box behind you inside a power rack and set the bar supports and safeties for your squat.
  2. Attach two long-loop resistance bands, one from each upper rack anchor to the corresponding bar sleeve, so they assist the bar evenly from above.
  3. Position the bar across your upper back, unrack it and step into your box-squat stance.
  4. Brace your trunk and bend your hips and knees to sit back onto the box while maintaining control of the bar.
  5. Pause on the box without rocking or bouncing and keep your trunk braced.
  6. Press through your feet and extend your hips and knees to stand, then return the bar to its supports when finished.
