Technique

How to perform Reverse Band Power Squat

  1. Set the bar supports and safeties in a power rack for your squat.
  2. Attach two long-loop resistance bands, one from each upper rack anchor to the corresponding bar sleeve, so the bar receives even assistance from above.
  3. Position the bar across your upper back, unrack it and take your wide squat stance with toes turned out.
  4. Brace your trunk and bend your hips and knees together, keeping your knees tracking with your feet.
  5. Lower to your controlled squat depth while maintaining your back position and balance over your feet.
  6. Extend your hips and knees to stand, then return the bar to its supports when finished.
