Technique

How to perform Seated Good Mornings

  1. Place a stable box inside a power rack and set the bar supports and safeties for your seated position and intended hinge depth.
  2. Position the bar across your upper back, take it from the supports and sit on the box with your feet planted and knees bent.
  3. Brace your trunk and keep the same spinal position as you hinge forward from your hips, keeping your hips on the box.
  4. Lower only as far as you can maintain that position, stopping above the rack safeties rather than bouncing on them.
  5. Reverse at the hips to bring your torso upright while keeping the bar and your back steady.
