Smith Machine Hip Raise

Technique
How to perform Smith Machine Hip Raise
- Position the bench beneath the Smith bar so you can lie back with your feet against its underside.
- Use the machine's supports to establish the starting height and position the bar above your hips.
- Support the bar through your feet with the legs nearly straight and a slight knee bend that stays fixed.
- Keep your upper back supported and use a fixed handhold on the machine for the setup described.
- Curl your pelvis toward your rib cage to lift your hips from the bench and move the bar upward.
- Lower the pelvis back to the bench without turning the return into a leg press.
- Re-support the bar before removing your feet.
