How to perform Standing Alternating Dumbbell Press

  1. Stand with a dumbbell in each hand and bring both weights to shoulder height.
  2. Keep your forearms beneath the weights with the elbows slightly forward of the torso rather than forced directly out to the sides.
  3. Hold your torso steady and press one dumbbell overhead without dipping the knees or leaning sideways.
  4. Keep the opposite dumbbell at shoulder height while the working arm moves.
  5. Lower the raised dumbbell under control to its starting position.
  6. Press and lower the other arm, then continue alternating without using leg drive.
