Torso Rotation Machine
Technique
How to perform Torso Rotation Machine
- Adjust the torso-rotation machine to your height by setting the seat so your knees are at roughly 90 degrees and your spine is upright against the backrest.
- Select an appropriate resistance and position the thigh pads snugly against your legs to lock your hips in place. Grasp the handles or cross your arms against the chest pad (depending on machine design) and align your shoulders with the axis of rotation.
- Engage your core to draw your rib cage down and keep a neutral spine. This is your starting position.
- Exhale as you rotate your torso against the resistance toward the target side, driving the motion from your obliques while keeping your hips and lower body fixed. Avoid shrugging the shoulders or using momentum.
- Pause briefly at full rotation, maintaining tension in your obliques and a steady, upright posture.
- Inhale as you reverse the motion under control, returning to the starting position without letting the weight stack touch down completely.
- Repeat for the prescribed repetitions, then adjust the machine stop to face the opposite direction (or reposition yourself) and perform the same sequence for the other side.
