Technique

How to perform Wall Angels

  1. Stand with your back against a wall, feet slightly forward of the wall, and knees slightly bent.
  2. Keep your lower back, shoulders, and head in contact with the wall.
  3. Place your arms out to your sides, bending your elbows at about 90 degrees. Try to keep your elbows, forearms, and wrists in gentle contact with the wall.
  4. Engage your core and maintain a neutral spine. This is your starting position.
  5. Inhale as you slide your arms upward along the wall, keeping them as close to the surface as possible.
  6. Exhale as you return to the starting position.
  7. Move slowly and avoid arching your back.
  8. Repeat for the prescribed repetitions, focusing on smooth, controlled motions and constant contact with the wall.
