Technique

How to perform Cossack Squat

  1. Stand with your feet in a wide stance and toes slightly turned out.
  2. Shift your weight onto your right leg while keeping your chest upright and core engaged.
  3. Inhale as you bend your right knee and push your hips back, lowering until your right thigh is at least parallel to the floor while your left leg stays straight with toes pointing upward.
  4. Keep your heel planted on the right foot and maintain a neutral spine as you reach full depth.
  5. Exhale as you press through your right heel to straighten your leg and return to the wide standing position, keeping your left leg straight throughout.
  6. Repeat on the opposite side and continue alternating for the prescribed repetitions.
