How to perform Intermediate Shrimp Squat

  1. Stand on your right foot with your left knee bent past 90 degrees so the thigh is vertical, the shin is angled up, your foot off the ground, and your arms extended forward for balance.
  2. Engage your core and keep your chest lifted as you stabilize on your supporting leg.
  3. Inhale as you bend your right knee and hinge slightly forward, lowering your left knee toward the ground until you reach a half-kneeling position with the left knee touching the ground.
  4. Pause briefly while maintaining tension through your right quad.
  5. Exhale as you press through your right heel, extending your knee and returning to the upright starting position while keeping your left leg in the more-than-90-degree bend.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions before switching legs.
