How to perform Lying Leg Raise

  1. Lie on your back on the floor with your legs extended and your arms resting beside you, or overhead as demonstrated.
  2. Bring your ribs down and keep your lower back in contact with the floor.
  3. Keep a small, steady bend in your knees as you raise your legs until they point approximately upward.
  4. Lower your legs slowly, stopping the descent before your lower back begins to arch away from the floor.
  5. Raise the legs again while maintaining the same trunk position rather than curling your hips off the floor.
