Technique

How to perform Pike Press Handstand

  1. Place your hands shoulder-width apart on the floor with fingers spread and arms locked.
  2. Lean your shoulders forward over your wrists as you keep your legs straight in a pike position, and hips slightly bent.
  3. Engage your core and press the floor away, lifting your feet while maintaining the pike and allowing your hips to rise without jumping.
  4. Straighten your hips as you continue pressing, floating your legs upward until they stack over your shoulders and wrists.
  5. Exteend tall to achieve a straight handstand, keeping your body tight and shoulders depressed.
  6. Lower under control or step down after holding for the prescribed time.
