How to perform Ring Sissy Squat

  1. Hold a pair of rings or suspension-trainer handles with your feet about hip-width apart and your arms extended in front of you.
  2. Position yourself so the straps stay tensioned and can provide assistance as you lean backward.
  3. Keep your hips relatively extended and bend your knees forward, allowing your heels to rise as you descend.
  4. Lower your trunk and thighs together without sitting your hips backward into a conventional squat.
  5. Extend your knees to rise, using the handles for controlled assistance rather than jerking yourself up.
  6. Return toward the upright starting position and repeat with both feet supporting the movement.
