Technique

How to perform Wall Handstand

  1. Stand facing a sturdy wall with enough room to place your hands near its base.
  2. Place your hands on the floor shoulder-width apart, fingers spread wide, arms straight, hands right near the wall, and shoulders stacked over wrists.
  3. Engage your core and squeeze your glutes, then kick your feet up to the wall until your body forms a straight vertical line, heels gently contacting the wall for support.
  4. Press through your hands, draw your shoulder blades down and toward your spine, and keep your arms locked to stabilize the position.
  5. Keep your head neutral, gaze slightly toward the floor.
  6. Maintain full-body tensionin the core, glutes, quads, and shoulders to hold a rigid line from wrists through shoulders, hips, and heels. Avoid arching your lower back. Breathe steadily and hold the handstand for the prescribed duration, making small hand or foot adjustments as needed for balance. To exit, bend one knee then slowly lower your feet to the ground.
