How to perform 120 degree V Sit

  1. Sit on the floor with your legs extended straight in front of you and place your hands beside your hips, fingers pointing forward and elbows locked.
  2. Press your palms firmly into the ground, depress your shoulders, and engage your core and hip flexors.
  3. Exhale as you lift your hips and heels off the floor simultaneously, first reaching an “L‑sit” with your legs parallel to the ground.
  4. Continue contracting your hip flexors and lower abs to raise your straight legs past vertical (90°) while simultaneously allowing your torso to tip backward, keeping your elbows locked and shoulders active.
  5. Stop when your legs form roughly a 120° angle with the floor - shins near your face - and your torso is slightly behind your hands; squeeze your quads, glutes, and core to maintain the position.
  6. Hold this 120° V‑sit for the prescribed time, breathing steadily and keeping your ribs tucked, then lower your legs under control to return to the starting position.
