Technique

How to perform 45 degree V Sit

  1. Sit on the floor with your legs extended straight in front of you and hands placed beside your hips, fingers pointing forward.
  2. Press your palms firmly into the ground, depress your shoulders, and engage your core and hip flexors.
  3. Exhale as you straighten your elbows and lift your hips and heels off the floor simultaneously, keeping your legs locked and toes pointed.
  4. Raise your legs until they form roughly a 45‑degree angle above the floor while keeping your torso upright, creating a shallow “V” shape between your trunk and thighs.
  5. Hold the 45‑degree V‑sit position - hips in line with hands and legs elevated - maintaining steady breathing, a neutral neck, and strong core tension.
  6. Lower your hips and heels gently back to the floor under control to return to the starting position.
  7. Repeat for the recommended number of holds or the prescribed time.
