Technique

How to perform Ring-Turned-Out L Sit

  1. Adjust the rings so they hang just below hip height and grip them with a false or neutral grip, palms facing in.
  2. Jump or press into a stable support hold with arms fully extended and shoulders depressed.
  3. Actively turn the rings outward until your thumbs point forward and the insides of your elbows face ahead, locking your elbows and squeezing your glutes and core to create a solid hollow body.
  4. Keep your torso tall and exhale as you raise both straight legs together until they form a 90‑degree angle with your torso, pointing your toes and keeping knees locked.
  5. Maintain the rings‑turned‑out support, pressing the handles down and slightly apart while holding the “L” position.
  6. Focus on keeping your ribs tucked and shoulders active to avoid sagging.
  7. Breathe steadily as you hold for the prescribed time, maintaining constant tension through your core, hip flexors, quads, and shoulders.
  8. To exit, inhale, lower your legs under control, and gently bend your elbows to step or lower back to the floor, resetting before the next repetition.
