Technique

How to perform Deficit One-Arm Press Handstand

  1. Stand beside a sturdy hip-height block and place your support hand flat on top with fingers facing forward and elbow locked.
  2. Shift your shoulders forward over the support wrist while keeping your feet on the floor and engaging your core and glutes.
  3. Lean more weight onto the block, lift your feet from the ground without jumping, and tuck or straddle your legs as your hips rise toward the block.
  4. Continue pressing through the support palm, straightening your arms fully and guiding your hips over your shoulders while your free arm stays tucked across your torso.
  5. Extend your legs together into a straight one-arm handstand above the block, maintaining a tight hollow body and depressed support shoulder for the prescribed hold time.
  6. Lower your legs back to the floor under control, returning to the starting position.
  7. Repeat for the prescribed repetitions.
