Wall Handstand Push-Up
Technique
How to perform Wall Handstand Push-Up
- Place your hands near a sturdy wall with enough clearance for your head, shoulder-width apart with fingers spread wide and elbows locked.
- Kick one leg, then the other, up so your heels make light contact with the wall, forming a straight line from wrists through shoulders, hips, and heels.
- Brace your core, squeeze your glutes, and actively depress your shoulders.
- Inhale as you unlock your elbows and lower your head toward the floor in a slow, controlled motion, keeping your body rigid and your elbows tracking roughly 45 degrees from your torso.
- Descend until the crown of your head lightly grazes the ground (or until your elbows reach about 90 degrees), maintaining steady tension through your shoulders, triceps, and core.
- Exhale as you press firmly through your palms, extending your elbows to drive your body straight back up to the fully locked-out position while keeping your heels in gentle contact with the wall and avoiding any lower-back arch.
- Repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions, controlling both the descent and ascent, then carefully lower one foot at a time to step down and exit the handstand.
