Wall Handstand Push-Up Negative
Technique
How to perform Wall Handstand Push-Up Negative
- Begin by placing your hands near a sturdy wall with enough clearance for your head, shoulder-width apart with fingers spread wide and elbows locked.
- Kick one leg, then the other, up to the wall so your heels make light contact and your body forms a straight line from wrists through shoulders, hips, and heels.
- Brace your core and depress your shoulders.
- Inhale, then exhale as you slowly bend your elbows, letting the crown of your head descend toward the floor in a controlled 3 - 5 second negative.
- Keep your elbows roughly 45 degrees from your torso and maintain a rigid hollow body.
- Pause just before your head touches the ground, absorbing the load through your shoulders and triceps while keeping the wall contact minimal.
- Tuck one knee, then the other, and step down to reset, returning to a standing position before kicking up for the next repetition.
- Repeat this kick-up-and-controlled-descent sequence for the recommended number of negatives, always prioritizing slow tempo, straight-line body tension, and shoulder stability.
